Stephen wanted the whole family to use the room,
which meant making space for homework, art
projects, paying bills, and editing family photos. “I
wanted a desk that did it all, but still looked like
a piece of furniture,” Stephen says. He opted for
modular cabinetry that offered drawers, cubbies, and
shelving. Stephen ordered his with a distressed
white finish to help brighten the windowlcss room.
Butcher block tops both the desk and the island.
